Freddy and his family at Joka Woodworks handmake wood pieces for display and everyday use, each with a unique style and rustic charm. Although each carving takes more time than using modern power tools, he feels they show more accurately the nature of the wood.

Only local woods found in Guanacaste, Costa Rica, are used even though the government only allows trees that have fallen naturally to be used for lumber. You will appreciate the deep hues in every piece!
