The Esquivel family has been farming coffee since 1897. Their Torunes farm, located at an altitude of 1200 meters, is among a fraction of farms that have been certified Organic by both Eco-LOGICA of Costa Rica and the USDA of the United States. This means they use no artificial pesticides or fertilizers.
The beans are selectively hand-picked several times a season as to harvest only those that are perfectly ripe.
Furthermore, the coffee is small-batched roasted to ensure consistency of roasting, and then packed in vacuum-sealed bags.
The result is a uniquely rich, smooth aroma and taste that only a few coffees can supply.
