I first discovered real coffee in 1982 on the patio of the Gran Hotel , long before it was taken over by Hilton (!). Our first morning in San Jose and the waiter showed up with a curious-looking sock into which he proceeded to pour hot water. It produced the best cup of coffee I had ever experienced - Costa Rican Tarrazu. I used a bolsita exclusively for years. I am very happy to have been reintroduced to this “technology.” It’s great!
