These hand-made ceramic pitchers are from Costa Rica, using only local natural colors and clay.
The pistachio-colored water pitchers were made by an indigenous Chorotegan artisan using their traditional methods and materials passed down through generations. The design you see is not painted onto the pitchers, but was carved by the artisan after the first firing. The ceramic pitcher is about 6 inches (15cm) tall and can hold up to 16 ounces of either hot or cold liquid, for example as a single-cup hot tea pitcher or coffee creamer.
The brown colored pitcher was made by an Huetar artisan using their ancestral techniques. It is about 7 inches (18cm) tall and can hold up to 32 ounces of liquid.
Since these pitchers are one-of-a-kind, the one you receive may look slightly different than shown in the photos.
