These handy waist bags are hand made from indigenous women of the Boruca Tribe. They re roughly 7 inches tall by 7 inches wide (18x18cm). Each is adorned with a Borucan mask or velcro strip to fasten the flap. The flap also covers a zippered pocket.
Since our belt bags are hand-made in small quantities, the backpack you receive will not have exactly the same color scheme as shown in the photos. The color you choose will be the dominant color, though.
Boruca is an indigenous tribe located in the mountains of South-Central Costa Rica. Time-honored hand weaving of naturally colored cotton thread was used to make each bag.
Mexico healthcare system does not provide dental treatment so even checkups are too expensive for many. We are funding free education, dental products, and then follow-up treatment from local dentists.
